On the homefront, MISSION:TRANSITION offers Safety Package, for seniors staying in their homes, or any homeowner or renter, who wants the assurance that their house has up to date safety features.       This service includes a thorough inspection of the residence, inside and out, identifying potentially dangerous situations and correcting minor issues like battery and light bulb replacement, installing plug- in emergency flashlights, and portable fire extinguishers in kitchen and bedroom.     Inspection of home, interior and out, and written room by room report with a written quotation on fulfilling any safety improvements.      For $595 we provide a thorough inspection (by our licensed contractor) and a NO-COST 1 hour Organizational Consultation with Laurie Zook.      Inspection of home, interior and out, and written room by room report and written quotation on fulfilling any safety improvements. Smoke, CO2 detector inspection and battery replacement/or new device installation. 2 item replacement included. Fire Extinguishers on each floor suggested. All Exterior and Interior Door Locks Tested. Escape route and method in case of fire. Plug in Emergency Flashlight installation in convenient location, flashlight included. Light bulb replacement through house, included. Handrail placement (bath, kitchen, stairs), suggested.  Flooring inspection, for things that can trip, slip, worn out, wrinkled and bad materials. Staircase inspection, inside and out. Non-slip tape applied.  Attic and basement inspection for vermin, leaks and holes in structure.  Basic look over of heating system for leaks, bad connections, etc.( HVAC specialist must do  inspection later) Exterior building assessment for leaks, vermin, deterioration. Debris report, inside and outside, removal suggestions. Toilet and sink leak inspection Questionable electrical switches and outlets. Appliances in kitchen and laundry, basement. Inspected for dirt, grease, lint. Inspection of dryer exhaust, washer hose and fittings. Corrections and installations done under separate contract.
